P6 is the graduating year for all the 12-years old kids! We know that the parents would want their child to do well especially on this year so that their child can enroll into the school of their choices!
With effect in Yr 2021, there was a change in PSLE scoring system, i.e. from aggregrate score to Achievement Level (AL), so your child must place his/her selection of the 6 secondary schools wisely in order to his/her preference that matches the AL cut-off points of the secondary schools!
If your child's score falls under the AL4 and above, then your child must develop the good habit of checking to minimize any marks lost due to careless mistakes as each AL is a difference of 5 marks! If your child loses 10 marks due to careless mistakes, he/she will drop from AL2 to AL4 !
So, make the marks count for the effort made!
Tell your child to treat each practise exam paper attempted as his/her actual PSLE papers so that your child will have NO REGRETS on the PSLE results release day!
We are aware that some parents felt lost when teaching their child cos they have lost touched in the primary syllabus. Hence, our lead coach, Ms Melissa Song did some sharing on heuristics in her FB group, mathsclinx to help parents to coach their child better! :) To see her sharing, click on her FB name to join her group! :)
To give the parents the additional support, Ms Melissa did some videos on the following SA1 and SA2 papers. To view them, send her a message via the FB messager (click on her name!) :)
Note: The videos are ONLY for questions that most of the students got them wrong. Hope the videos help your child to understand his/her mistakes and improve his/her problem-solving skill! :)
You can view the videos for the following papers:
1) 2022 P6 CHIJ Prelims (Uploaded on 25 June 2023) Note: Paper 1 (17 & (Q26) were different from the questions downloaded from internet as those were replacement questions for Speed and Nets questions where most of the students have not learnt these 2 topics yet! If your child's school has taught these 2 topics, your child should have no problem acing the questions and can proceed to do the original CHIJ Prelim exam papers :) )
Paper 2 (Q4) was also different - to replace an Angles question.
