Solve by model approach, i.e. making the units of the Remainder to be the same by cutting the models into smaller units e.g. x5 means cutting that 1 part into 5 smaller units:)

Solve by Branching method using Units. We made the units of the Remainder to be the same:)

Solve by Branching method using fractions.
- Using the concept of 'Fraction of a set', multiply the fractions of the Remainder WITH the fraction of the Total to find what fraction of the Total is the Remainder. |
Method 1 is using the concept of finding the cost of EQUAL QUANTITY (1u) of the items. and comparing its difference in total cost.
Method 2 is using the concept of 'Quantity x Value' to find the total cost of the cakes and buns. As the quantity and each value are of different values, hence 'u' (units) and 'p' (parts' are used. If your child is well-versed in Algebra, your child can try for this method. :)
